Some Thoughts On Gratitude…. Happy Thanksgiving

Count Your Blessings

I’m writing to give thanks.  To give thanks for the love that envelops me on a daily basis.  Love from my husband, my dog, my parents, my brothers, my extended family, my friends. Love from each of you, Write In Color readers.  I’m thankful to have people around me that are good, honest, intellectual, compassionate, creative, dedicated and full of heart.  Each of you enhances my life and inspires me.

I’m thankful to have a day dedicated to all my favorite foods: squash and corn and potatoes (especially the corn).  I’m thankful that I have a kitchen full of yummy food to cook.  I’m thankful to have a home that is warm and makes me feel secure.  I’m thankful to have the support I need to take risks, the flexibility to venture into the unknown.  I’m thankful for health. Very, very thankful for health. For mine and for the health of everyone around me. I woke up this morning thinking, I am the luckiest.

In honor of Thanksgiving, let’s all count our blessings: from the smallest, to the biggest. The world can be a scary, difficult place. And yet, we find inspiration every day that compels us to write, to create art, to live. I’d say we are all the luckiest.

Happy Thanksgiving. Thanks for being part of Write In Color.
